We are three students currently enrolled in the Master of Professional Studies in Journalism at Georgetown University. Because two of the members of this blog are from outside the United States, we dedicated this space to all those ethnic local grocery stores in the D.C. area and to those immigrants who find success in their food.

I am a 23 years old international student born and raised in Venezuela with a passion for political and international news, especially on Hispanic and Latin American topics. I came to Washington, D.C. to pursue my dream of becoming a journalist, and I will make the most of this opportunity. I am currently enrolled in a master’s in journalism at Georgetown University.

My favorite foods are Italian, American and, of course, Venezuelan.

Hey folks! I hope you will enjoy all our stories about the Ethnic stores in the DMV area. Here’s a little bit about me: I’m from Paris and I just moved to D.C. a few months ago to pursue a master degree in journalism. I do love food more than anything else in life, but as surprising as it could be I’m so worst cook ever. I am not even exaggerating! People expect me to cook because

1. I’m French

2. I love food

That’s why when I arrived in America I had to learn because all my friends were begging me to cook for them. This is how I discovered most of the Ethnics stores in D.C!

Don’t hesitate to contact me by email (cmb338@georgetown.edu), Twitter, Facebook or Instagram!

We are eager to learn about other cultures and traditions.  Searching for ethnic grocery stores has expanded our culinary knowledge and made us more international.
